“There are now millions of users leveraging Radius Networks’ beacon developer kits, developer tools, and our ProximityKit cloud services and mobile SDKs for iOS and Android devices. The RadBeacon X4 demonstrates that we are constantly pushing the boundaries of beacon capabilities,” says Marc Wallace, CEO and Co-Founder of Radius Networks.

“The only thing better than big batteries, is even more big batteries. Its maximum battery life makes it the perfect beacon for anywhere power is not readily available, such as parking facilities, fueling stations, industrial manufacturing plants and outdoor retail and restaurant locations,” said David Helms, Chief Product Officer at Radius Networks. The RadBeacon X4’s fully ruggedized and weatherproof enclosure makes it capable of withstanding extreme temperature and weather conditions in environmentally-demanding locations. “The RadBeacon X4 builds on our success of our RadBeacon X2 proximity multi-beacon. This micro-location proximity awareness can be leveraged to deliver a wide range of new innovative solutions, such as precision indoor navigation, automatic ticketing, guided museum tours and location-relevant offers and promotions. Proximity multi-beacons with iBeacon and AltBeacon technology are short range, low power, Bluetooth Smart transmitters that can notify mobile devices when they come within 100 feet of the beacon. The prevalent availability of AA batteries ensures convenience when it's time to replace expired batteries.

The default advertising rate interval of 100ms ensures iBeacon and AltBeacon compliance out-of-the-box and a minimum battery life of 18 months. RadBeacon X4 is powered by 4 user-replaceable AA batteries for maximum battery life. Radius Networks, Inc., the leading provider of mobile proximity services, today announced the release of its RadBeacon X4 Bluetooth Smart proximity multi-beacon with iBeacon and AltBeacon technology.
